IMPORTANT STUFF

Hygiene

This is strictly adhered to. There is no excuse. A tidy station ensures an efficient face painting service and being hygienic is about having the utmost respect for the people you are painting. I only use a clean sponge per person (to prevent cross-contamination). All my equipment is thoroughly cleansed after each session using the recommended cleaning agents and the sponges washed at a high temperature. The mirrors, etc are disinfected for your and my hygiene. I don't use hair bands or clips but if I do need to pull a fringe out of the way then I use a kirby clip which yu may keep.  Water is changed frequently during events. I also provide table coverings for protection of your or your venue's furniture.

My products

I only use high quality, professional face painting and specialist make up products that are compliant with both EU and FDA regulations. My products contain no parabens, lanolin, oils, eggs nuts or gluten. This ensures that a reaction on sensitive skin is highly unlikely (see allergic reactions). I only use safe, poly rounded biodegradable glitter that has been designed for use on skin. I do not use metallic or craft glitter.

Allergic Reactions

Statistics show that the unlikely event of a reaction occurring are 1 in 10,000,000. Though the products are aimed with children in mind, and as with all skin products you cannot guarantee that a reaction may not occur. I can provide a test patch if you are unsure. If you would like a list of ingredients also please ask.

Removal of Face Paints, Glitter Tattoos and Theatrical Makeup

Paints are water based and removal is best with mild soap and water (or baby oil on cotton wool if there’s a little colour residue).  Glitter tattoos- with care they can last up to 5 days but for earlier removal soak the tattoo with baby oil or an oil based cleanser before bathing.  They are waterproof so will not wash off with water.  Anyone with a latex allergy cannot have a glitter tattoo applied.  Most of the theatrical products are easily removed with soap and warm water although, more information can be provided upon request as some require theatrical cleansers.  We do not advise the removal of face paint with baby wipes as these contain alcohol and other harsh ingredients which can at times provoke a reaction

Who can I not paint

For obvious reasons I cannot paint anyone who has inflamed skin, eczema, cold sores, conjunctivitis, head lice, runny roses, open sores or any other abrasions infectious or otherwise. Due to patience on both parts, face painting a child of less than 3 is not practicable when we are managing a queue at public events (plus leaves us uninsured).  We can however (at our discretion) offer a small arm design.  The expectation can also be over whelming and we want all of our guests to have a pleasurable experience.  We will not paint any child who does not want to be painted whether the adult wants them to have it or not.

What I ask of you

Parents are to be advised that a face painter will be present or tattooing, etc at your special event and parental consent must be given.  I understand the need to take photos of your child's experience of being painted, however, please would you ask me for permission before you film every step of me completing your child's design.  When making a booking could you please inform me of any difficult parking situations, or contraidictions so that I am not fined.  I also ask you to pay the expense of pay and display carparks.  My work is my business and I have buiness set up costs like everyone else, although I do provide my services for free a few times a year for charities close to my hear, however, I therefore cannot afford to work for nothing on every occasion even for the exposure/marketing opportunities.  Finally, it is also requested that other adult is on location to help with any unforeseen eventualities and, at busy times, to ensure that the queue remains orderly so that everyone gets a chance to be painted and to prevent me or my equipment from being trampled on!!!

CANCELLATIONS  If the face painter/artist is unavailable to work due to illness or other unforeseen circumstance we will endeavour to find a replacement for you and any paid balance will be refunded in full if a replacement face painter cannot be arranged.

In the event of cancellation of the party/booking by the client within 3 weeks of the event date 25% of the total fee will be due.  Within 2 weeks 50%.-Within one week 100%. This is due to other work being refused once your booking is confirmed and results in a loss of business for Fable Faces.  If the cancellation is within 6 weeks then we will do our best to reschedule a new date for you.

INJURY The Client agrees to pay for any accidents or injuries inflicted on the artists by the client, clients’ employees similarly any damage to artist’s equipment or supplies caused by the client, clients’ guests and/or pets.

Any standard parking charges (car park) incurred are to be covered by the client. Please inform us if there are potential issues regarding parking.

BOOKED TIMES The face painter/artist will start working at the time stated and leave at time stated. A setting up period and packing away period will be allowed for by the face painter/artist.   The artist may be able to work longer but this is at the discretion of the artist.  Please be aware they may have additional bookings to go to. We will inform the customer 10 minutes before the end of the booked time. 10 minutes allows for approx. 2/3 designs. Whilst we can allow a few minutes over, this is only if there are no bookings straight after and at the painters discretion. When ‘Pay Overtime’ is chosen the host agrees to pay for additional time in half hour intervals, time rounded up to the nearest half hour, the final cut off time to be determined by the host at the event – a pay as you go option.  And as we are already set up and it allows for a few more happy customers but we stress at the time of booking that this is available only if we don’t have another party booked thereafter.

Now we have this out of the way....................let the fun begin!!!
